Burlington Stores has donated $5,000 through its partnership with the national non-profit organization, AdoptAClassroom.org, in celebration of its new store now open in Darien, IL. Funds will be used towards school supplies to help ensure students at Lace Elementary have the learning materials and tools they need to succeed now and in the future.

The funds will be used to support classroom programs with materials and incentives to support the Darien 61 mission of inspiring and empowering each child to realize their full potential.

“We are extremely grateful that Burlington thought of our district and particularly Lace School with this generous donation through their partnership with AdoptAClassroom.org,” said Superintendent Dr. Robert Langman. “Community support like this is such a wonderful way to show a commitment to the young people in our area who work so hard each day supported by our incredible teachers and staff.”

Darien 61 serves around 1,300 students in three schools. Lace Elementary serves students in grades 3-5 and prepares Bulldogs for success as they enter middle school at Eisenhower Junior High School and beyond. District 61 has developed a reputation for providing excellent educational programs while being fiscally responsible to the community. Not only does the district provide services for the gifted and special needs students, but extra-curricular activities as well. The band and vocal music programs have received national recognition for excellence. District 61 offers full day kindergarten, and students in third through eighth grade receive Chromebooks as part of the District's 1:1 initiative.
