Champions Before and After School Care Program

As you may already know, Kids Club will no longer operate after the 2025-2026 school year. As we prepare for the 2026-2027 school year, we want to first extend our heartfelt gratitude for the years of dedicated service provided by the Kids Club program. We truly cannot replace Kids Club—it is a unique environment built by individuals who have given so much to our schools and students.

While the program is transitioning, our priority has been to find a partner that recognizes the talent and dedication of our staff and the quality of programming we have been able to offer our families. We are excited to announce that beginning with the 2026-2027 school year, the Champions program will be offered in Darien 61 at both Mark DeLay and Lace schools.

We chose Champions because they value the continuity of care that your children deserve.  In fact, Champions is eager to keep as much continuity as possible. They are prioritizing our current Kids Club employees and offering them the first opportunity to join the Champions team, so the familiar faces your children love can continue to be part of their daily experience.

What’s New for 2026-2027

Our partnership with Champions allows for the following:

  • More Capacity
    • The program will be able to operate at a higher capacity, ensuring care is available for everyone who needs it.
  • Break & Holiday Care
    • Champions offers full-day care during Winter Break, Spring Break, Teacher Institute Days, SIP Days, and Late Start.
  • Financial Support
    • Champions accepts the Illinois state childcare assistance program, and reduced tuition may be available based on your eligibility.
  • Continuity of Learning 
    • Children will enjoy STEM activities, Creative Arts, Fitness, and dedicated homework support in a safe, familiar environment.

Note on Summer Programming: We will not be offering summer camps just yet, but we will
be surveying families soon to investigate interest for future years.
