A gym uniform and gym shoes are necessary for a student to be successful in physical education class.  

1. PE uniforms will help with personal hygiene. The middle school body is changing and at this point in their lives, some students develop strong body odors. PE uniforms help insure that all students are changing clothes before and following PE.

2. All students are adequately and appropriately dressed. Uniforms would help to end the battle on shirts too skimpy and shorts that are too short.

3. Uniforms could help to prevent the sharing of clothes – again a hygienic reason. (All uniforms are to be labeled with student’s name). Students need to learn that after exercise we need to change clothes.
