All files associated with meetings beginning August 2011 can be found under the school board heading of this website, or click here.  School Board Meetings are normally held on the fourth Tuesday in January, March, April, May, June, July, August, September, and October. In February, November, and December the meeting is scheduled on the second or third Tuesday of the month based on the school calendar. The meetings begin at 7:00 pm in the Music Room at Lace School, 7414 Cass Avenue, Darien. Time and location are subject to change. Please call (630) 968-7505 for confirmation. Any individual with a disability requiring a reasonable accommodation in order to participate in any Board meeting should contact Dr. Robert Langman or Mrs. Kateri Quinonez ADA Co-Compliance Officers, within a reasonable time before the meeting.

PUBLIC PARTICIPATION IN BOARD OF EDUCATION MEETINGS

Public comments during the Audience Communication portion of our meetings are valuable and important to this board. However, a Board of Education meeting is not a forum; it is a deliberative and representative body. Our board receives public comments as a source of information and considers each in making decisions and in the establishment of policies. It is our policy to take no action on any item until we have gathered adequate information and objectively discussed available options. During the meeting, the Board, at its discretion, may choose to address an issue raised during public comment, but please understand that lack of action on comments tonight does not imply any lack of interest in what is being said.

Anyone wishing to make a presentation at a meeting must submit a request in writing to the President of the Board and/or the Superintendent of Schools in advance. A special form is available at each meeting. Such a request should contain an explanation of material to be presented as well as samples of handouts the citizen would like to circulate at a Board meeting.

All written correspondence will be acknowledged. A review of citizen requests and recommendations will be made promptly, and if it is decided that a matter should be placed on the agenda for consideration, it will be done as soon as possible.

Meetings will be live-streamed, and the link to the live-stream video will be made available on the agenda on the evening of the meeting.  Additionally, a link to submit a public comment will be provided on each agenda.  All comments must be submitted by 2:00 P.M. the day of the meeting.  All submitted comments will be read in their entirety during the BOE meeting.
