  • Janine Kiwiet

    Janine Kiwiet-President/ LEND Representative/ Member Facilities Committee

    (Term Ends: April 2023) Janine Kiwiet has been a member of the Board of Education since 2011. She currently serves as the President of the Board and the LEND representative. Mrs. Kiwiet has a Bachelor of Science from Illinois State University in Fashion Merchandising and a Minor in Business Administration. She currently works as a Merchandiser.   • Lauren Kaeseberg-Vice President

    Lauren Kaeseberg-Vice President/Member Policy Committee

    (Term Ends: April 2023) Lauren Kaeseberg was elected to the School Board in the April 2019 election. Lauren is the Chicago Legal Director of a non-profit legal organization based at the University of Illinois Springfield, where she works with students at the undergraduate and law school levels. Prior to becoming an attorney, Lauren was a teacher at a Chicago Public High School. Lauren is a graduate of DePaul University, where she obtained her degree in Secondary Education, cum laude, with a Middle School endorsement. She is also a graduate of Cardozo Law School in New York City, where she was a Public Service Scholar. Lauren has two young children.

  • Jane Moss

    Jane Moss- Secretary/ Member Facilities Committee

    (Term Ends: April 2023) Jane Moss has been a member of the Board since April of 2015. She serves as a member of the Policy Committee. Mrs. Moss has a Bachelor of Science from Indiana State University in Business Education and a Masters from University of Illinois as a Reading Specialist. She retired as a Reading Specialist from Mark DeLay in June of 2014. She is married to Dan and has two sons, Matt and Chris, who went through Darien Schools. In addition, she has two grandchildren.     Karen Buckels-Member/Facilities Committee/Policy Committee

    (Term Ends: April 2025) Karen Buckles grew up in district 61, attending Marion Hills Elementary and Eisenhower Jr. High. Mrs. Buckles attended Hinsdale South High School and continued on to graduate from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a BS in Business Management. Mrs. Buckles left her career in account management in 2013 to dedicate more time to her growing family. Since then, she has been an active volunteer in the community and on the Delay/Lace PTA board for 6 years. Mrs. Buckles and her husband Danny have 3 daughters, Kayla (8th grade), Katelyn (5th grade), and Kendall (4th grade).

  • Jack Kubik

    Jack Kubik-Member/ Facilities Committee/Finance Committee Chairperson

    (Term Ends: April 2023) Jack Kubik was appointed to the Board of Education on May 23, 2017. Mr. Kubik has a Bachelor of Arts from DePaul University in Business Administration.Is semi-retired, doing some part-time government affairs consulting. He was married to the late Aggie Kubik, has two step-children, Lynn and Brian and four grandchildren, all of whom have either attended or are currently attending District 61 schools.

    Travis Myers-Member/Policy Committee

    (Term Ends April 2025) Travis Myers was selected to fill the vacancy on the BOE in October, 2022.  Mr. Myers is a community member of Darien 61 and has 2 children that attend Darien 61 schools.  Mr. Myers is a Firefighter/ Paramedic in Forest Park, Illinois, and holds degrees in Fire Science and Emergency Management Systems.

  •  Dana Pavlu

    Dana Pavlu-Member/Policy Committee/IASB Delegate

    (Term Ends: April 2025) Dana Pavlu is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker; she earned her Master’s Degree from the University of Chicago. She has 20 years of professional experience that includes counseling adolescents and families, child welfare, juvenile justice fields, office-based medical groups and outpatient hospital programs, providing individual, family and group counseling. Mrs. Pavlu received her undergraduate degree from West Virginia University in Family and Consumer Science. Mrs. Pavlu originally grew up in New Jersey and has been in IL for 25 years, and in Darien for 17 years. She is married to Kurt and has 2 boys (4th & 6th grade) who currently attend D61 schools.

    Frank Brendlinger-Treasurer

    Frank Brendlinger has been with the Darien school district since 2017 as accounts payable/bookkeeper. Mr. Brendlinger has held a variety of management positions including Jewel store manager, office manager, and associate minister. Mr. Brendlinger earned his master's degree from Moody Graduate School and a master's endorsement from Concordia University Chicago. When he is not at work he enjoys woodworking or DIY projects around the house. Mr. Brendlinger is married to his wife Jackie and they have two children.

    Dr. Robert Langman-Superintendent of Schools

    Dr. Langman has served as an educator for over 20 years. Dr. Langman has held many roles throughout his career. He has previously served as a 4th and 5th-grade classroom teacher, a differentiation/instructional coach, elementary assistant principal in Benjamin School District 25, an Elementary Principal and Director of Instructional Technology in Addison School District 4, and Assistant Superintendent for Teaching and Learning in Glen Ellyn CCSD89. Dr. Langman is married to his wife Jessica who is also a teacher.
