Dear Parents/Guardians,

 

 

This summer, District #61 is offering a tuition-based Summer School Program for children currently enrolled in grades 1-8. This academic program is designed to provide children with additional support in acquiring or maintaining essential Language Arts and Math skills. In addition to the summer academic classes, several Sports Camps are offered at Eisenhower Junior High School for students currently enrolled in grades 4-7.  (Football is only open to students currently enrolled in Grades 5-7).

 

The dates for this yearÕs Summer School Programs and Summer Sports Camps are June 2nd - June 20th. Each program runs for a three-week period and meets Monday through Friday at the times listed below. (The Eisenhower football camp and cross-country camps will follow a different schedule.) Please look for the specific dates and times listed in this packet for further details. All programs will take place at Eisenhower Junior High School.

 

The cost for each program is $100.00, and all payments are due at the time of registration.  A reduced tuition rate of $50.00 is available for students who qualify for free or reduced lunch.  For more information, please call Joel Filas at 964-5200 x 103. jfilas@darien61.org

EISENHOWER JR. HIGH SPORTS CAMPS

 

June 2- June 20, 2008

 

 

EJH GirlsÕ Volleyball @ 8:00 A.M. - 10:00 A.M.                                                                     

This camp is open to girls currently enrolled in grades four, five, six, and seven.  This camp will meet five days a week from June 2 - June 20, in the large gym at Eisenhower Jr. High School. The following areas of volleyball will be stressed: passing, setting, spiking, serving, blocking, rotation, defense, and game play.

 

EJH BoysÕ Volleyball @ 8:00 A.M. - 10:00 A.M.                                                        

This camp is open to boys currently enrolled in grades four, five, six, and seven. This camp will meet five days a week from June 2 - June 20in the small gym at Eisenhower Jr. High School. The following areas of volleyball will be stressed: passing, setting, spiking, serving, blocking, rotation, defense, and game play.

 

EJH GirlsÕ Basketball @ 10:15 A.M. - 12:15 P.M.

This camp is open to girls currently enrolled in grades four, five, six, and seven. This camp will meet five days a week from June 2 - June 20 in the large gym at Eisenhower Jr. High School. The camp will stress the basic fundamentals of passing, dribbling,  shooting, rebounding,  and offensive and defensive skills.

 

EJH BoysÕ Basketball @ 12:30 P.M. - 2:30 P.M.

This camp is open to boys currently enrolled in grades four, five, six, and seven. This camp will meet five days a week from June 2 - June 20 in the large gym at Eisenhower Jr. High School. The camp will stress the basic fundamentals of passing, dribbling, shooting, rebounding, and offensive and defensive skills.

 

 

August 4 - August 22, 2008

 

EISENHOWER JR. HIGH FOOTBALL CAMP @ 8 A.M.- 10:00 A.M.

This camp is open to students currently enrolled in fifth, sixth and seventh grades only and will be conducted from August 4-August 22.  This camp will meet five days a week for two hours daily.  Students will be exposed to the basic fundamentals and will have the opportunity to learn the different positions in football.

 

                                                                       

EISENHOWER JR. HIGH CROSS COUNTRY CAMP @ 8:00 A.M – 10:00 A.M.

This camp is open to students currently enrolled in four, five, six, and seven, and will be conducted from August 4 - August 22.  This camp will meet five days a week for two hours daily.  Runners of all abilities are welcome.  Students will be working up to the 2-mile junior high race distance.  Participants should be ready to run everyday with a water bottle and weather appropriate attire.
